I’m an Enthusiastic Amateur

I plan to write a series of articles about New Horizons fifth-wheel trailers. For all my friends who are nice enough to follow along because you’re interested in what Karen and I are experiencing, I apologize. This series of articles is¬†targeted at people who are grappling with which¬†RV brand to buy, and discusses how to navigate the design and purchase process. My normal friends can skip these reader-specific posts — unless you’re toying with the (very good) idea of hitting the road with Karen and me!

I’m not really an expert in these things, but I’ve learned a lot this past year. I’m persistent, inquisitive, and pretty compulsive about figuring out what would work best for Karen and me as we followed the path to full time RVing. Don’t get me wrong — we made design and purchase mistakes along the way (obviously), but I’m finding that much more often than not we made the right decisions. Over time, I’ll walk you through our decision-making processes, what we did right, and what we didn’t. I hope it helps.

That being said, I can probably help. Contact me at Jeff[at]MaverickLeadership[dot]com if you have questions or if you are considering buying a New Horizons trailer.

We are curious about the driving and the mechanics of operating a massive rig like yours. I look forward to reading about the inside and practical part of your new travel choice.

I’m curious too! Driving that big truck and 42′ trailer is intimidating, but others who do it all the time say it’s certainly doable. Going down the highway is trivial — it’s navigating city streets and backing into spots that makes me anxious. I think it’ll be fine.
